This is the fifth volume in the Sex and Horror series, which celebrates the Italian publishing phenomenon known as “fumetti sexy” that boomed in the 1960s and ’70s. The huge popularity of these pocked-sized adult comic books was due in part to their uninhibited mix of twisted humour, gory violence, and up-front eroticism. However, what makes them so sought-after today is their technicolour cover illustrations, which were created by classically trained artists. Here, we showcase the sensational and provocative comic book covers produced by Roberto Molino.

Nicola D’Agostino is an Italian freelance writer, translator, musician, designer and consultant with many years of experience in the comics and music publishing industries. In addition to writing about technology and culture for publishing houses such as Mondadori and Gruppo Sole24Ore, he has translated, among others, comics and graphic novels by Alan Moore, Grant Morrison and Warren Ellis.
